It’s been quite the start for the new superstar in the Bronx.

Juan Soto Named AL Player of the Week

Yankees outfielder Juan Soto was named the American League Player of the Week on Monday night thanks to his tremendous performance in the four-game sweep of the Houston Astros.

Soto's Performance

The 25-year-old slugger hit .529 with his first home run, four RBI, three walks and two runs scored while posting a .756 slugging percentage in his first series as a Yankee. He had at least one hit and one RBI in each of the four games.

Strong Defense

Beyond his offensive prowess, Soto also looked very strong in right field, throwing out the potential tying run at the plate in the ninth inning of the Yankees’ Opening Day 5-4 win.

Player of the Week History

Soto has now won a Player of the Week award in three different uniforms, taking home the hardware as a National, Padre, and Yankee.
