Former RNC Chair Criticizes Trump's Sharing of Video Depicting Biden Tied Up

Michael Steele Criticizes Trump for Sharing Controversial Video and Attacking Judges

Former Republican National Committee (RNC) chair Michael Steele criticized former President Trump, calling him a "visceral animal" after Trump shared a video depicting President Biden tied up in the back of a truck and launched attacks against judges overseeing his court cases.

Steele, a political analyst for MSNBC, stated that the concept of thinking before speaking "is way above Donald Trump's paygrade, or I think, intellectual capacity because he's a visceral animal politically and in business."

Trump's recent actions include posting a video to his Truth Social site showing a truck with a printed photo on the truck bed that appeared to depict Biden tied up. Trump has also attacked judges involved in his criminal cases, particularly Judge Juan Merchan and his daughter, who were the latest targets. Merchan had placed a gag order on Trump regarding the hush money case, but excluded himself and his daughter from the order.

Steele expressed his confusion and amazement at how the system appears to bend over backwards for Trump despite his disregard for rules and norms. He questioned Merchan's decision-making in excluding himself from the gag order, emphasizing Trump's history as a "bad actor" and calling for a response from the system.

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump's campaign, defended Trump's actions, stating that the picture was on the back of a pickup truck traveling down the highway, and criticizing Democrats and others for calling for violence against Trump and his family.

Michael Tyler, Biden's campaign communications director, condemned Trump's post, stating that it is typical of Trump to incite political violence, referencing the January 6th Capitol riot.
